For several years, staff members at Horizon Middle School East Campus have been moving toward feedback-based grading, which focuses on students’ learning instead of their achievement on a particular assignment. Tom Schimmer, author of “Grading from the Inside Out,” spoke at a parent night at the beginning of the school year to explain the change in grading philosophy.

Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation and Moorhead Area Education Foundation are joining forces in supporting Moorhead’s schools and students. In July 2019, each board of directors voted unanimously to merge as one entity, called Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation. Read More »
Welcome to Dorothy Dodds Elementary School! Dodds Elementary School focuses on learning by using a results-oriented curriculum and instruction and by creating a culture of respect, acceptance and support for students in partnership with parents. Dodds Elementary is located in east Moorhead and has approximately 750 students in grades K-4.
Family involvement is a critical link to student achievement, to achieving a high quality education and to a safe, disciplined learning environment.
