January 27, 2015
Superintendent Lynne Kovash participated with the superintendents from Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton and Barnesville in a panel discussion about the area schools during the 46th Annual Clay County Joint Powers Intergovernmental Retreat on Jan. 23. The superintendents shared updates from their districts, highlighting student demographics, enrollment growth, facility needs and progress toward meeting World’s Best Workforce state legislation.
The one-day retreat, with the theme of a place to grow, focused on workforce retention, which is a topic of importance to the municipalities, school districts, and other governmental agencies in Clay County.
The intergovernmental retreat concluded with a legislative forum. Moorhead School Board member Bill Tomhave moderated the legislative forum with U.S. Congressman Collin Peterson; Senator Kent Eken, Minnesota Senate District 4; Representative Paul Marquart, Minnesota House District 4B; and Representative Ben Lien, Minnesota House District 4A.
