Preschoolers help read “Moo” during puppet show at Probstfield

April 2, 2015

Between giggles and “moos,” more than 100 preschoolers listened and watched while Cow took the farmer’s car for an adventurous drive that included a stop at the library.

Minnesota author David LaRochelle and illustrator Mike Wohnoutka read their award-winning book “Moo!” to the students. After talking with Cow, LaRochelle and Wohnoutka shared a puppet show retelling of “Moo!” and got everyone dancing with some original music.

The early literacy event on April 2 was coordinated by Moorhead Public Library, a branch of the Lake Agassiz Regional Library, as part of the Once Upon a Reader program. Once Upon a Reader is a statewide one-book program designed for pre-K children to promote early literacy skills. It is supported by the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
