Knit for the community, plus register for other Moorhead Community Education, ECFE fall classes

September 29, 2015

Moorhead Community Education is holding Knitting for Community on Oct. 3. Participants will knit scarves to decorate trees around the Lutheran Church of Christ the King for a week before being given to Churches United for the Homeless to distribute to those who need them.

“If you know how to knit, come and teach beginning knitters. If you’ve never knit before or need a refresher, come and learn,” said Lauri Winterfeldt, director of Community Education. “If you have yarn or needles to donate, bring them in to Probstfield Center for Education.”

Register for the free Knitting for Community session at 218-284-3400 or go online at https://communityed.moorheadschools.org.

Besides the knitting session, Moorhead Community Education still has space in many fall classes. The catalog, which mailed in late August, includes more than 225 learning opportunities for people of all ages and interests.

Fall classes include It Hasta Be Pasta and other cooking classes; Windows 8 and other computer classes; yoga and dance classes; genealogy classes; sewing, knitting and craft classes; Acrylic Painting, Exploding Books, Wood Carving and other arts and music classes; MELT and other health and wellness classes; online classes you can take from home; and Introduction to Home Brewing, Own Your Story, How to Find a Service Center, Beginner’s Guide to Getting Published, and many others.

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) registration also is underway. Classes for parents and children ages birth through kindergarten entry include Family Fun, Nursery Rhyme Time in Sign, Family Date Night, Baby Connection, My Date with Dad and many more. ECFE classes are listed in the fall Parenting Press newsletter and the fall Community Education catalog. Classes are open to all residents of Moorhead, Fargo, West Fargo and the surrounding area.

Moorhead residents and past participants receive a catalog in the mail. Moorhead residents with children ages birth to kindergarten entry who are on the school district census receive Parenting Press. To request a free catalog or to register for a class by credit card, call Community Education at 218-284-3400 or go online at https://communityed.moorheadschools.org.
