Deputy Minority Leader Erin Murphy visits Moorhead’s School Readiness program

February 16, 2016

State Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL-Saint Paul), Rep. Ben Lien and Sen. Kent Eken met with administrators in Moorhead earlier this month to discuss pre-K and early childhood education initiatives. They toured the district’s Jump Start preschool program as part of a visit to highlight the need for early childhood education.

Rep. Murphy has been touring the state examining what barriers educators face and how successes they have had in pre-K education can be replicated across Minnesota. Moorhead administrators indicated that transportation and space needs are two challenges the district faces in providing preschool programming.
