Kylie Morgan shares anti-bullying message with Reinertsen students

March 16, 2016

Singer Kylie Morgan shared three suggestions and three songs with students at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary on March 9.

Students watched the “Phoebe” music video, a song Morgan co-wrote in honor of Phoebe Prince who was bullied. Morgan, a 20-year-old country music singer from Newcastle, Ok., created the bullying prevention awareness campaign called “It Matters What We Do.”

Morgan, who is a national spokesperson for PACER and its Teens Against Bullying campaign, shared her own bullying experience with students.

“We’ve all experienced it in some way,” she said. “There are so many things you can do to help prevent this.”

Morgan encouraged students to give compliments, be a friend and love yourself.

“The best thing we can all do is be kind to one another,” she said, challenging students to give compliments to three different people in the coming week.

She also encouraged students to make a new friend and to realize that each of us is special.

“We all have different talents, and we all have different things that make us special,” Morgan said.

Morgan’s presentation at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary was made possible thanks to Vanity.
