Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation Launches The 152 Club
January 10, 2017
Community members are being asked to join The 152 Club launched by the newly formed Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation. In its inaugural year, Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation hosted an August 2016 kick-off event and established The 152 Club, which seeks donations of $152 to fund opportunities for growth and learning for all students in Moorhead Area Public Schools ISD 152.
Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization established to support the needs of current and future students in Moorhead Area Public Schools and create an endowment to support the schools in the future.
This differs from Moorhead Area Education Foundation, which provides scholarships to graduating seniors and post-secondary students and offers mini grants to teachers.
Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation supports innovative programs and projects that are outside of district funding. In addition to raising funds, the work of the foundation aims to create a solid resource base for students in academics, athletics, arts and activities and highlighting the achievements of such programs.
Visit www.moorheadlegacy.org for more information or to donate online.
On Feb. 9, Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation will be part of Giving Hearts Day 2017, co-hosted by Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Foundation and Alex Stern Family Foundation. Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation wants students in Moorhead Area Public Schools to receive milk/snack break and meals, even if their families are struggling to make ends meet. Contributions to the Legacy Foundation’s Food for Thought campaign will fund this effort, and Giving Hearts Day donations will be matched, furthering the impact.
