District and building administrators accept ALS ice bucket challenge

August 27, 2014

Several district and building administrators in Moorhead Area Public Schools have accepted the ALS ice bucket challenge this month.

Today, Dr. Lynne Kovash, superintendent, Missy Eidsness, director of school improvement and accountability, Dan Markert, director of information systems and instructional support, and Dean Haugo, activities director, accepted challenges from their counterparts in the Fargo Public Schools and were doused with ice water.

Previously administrators at Moorhead High School accepted the challenge and in turn challenged the Horizon Middle School principal and assistant principal. Departments at Moorhead High School have also taken the ice bucket challenge and challenged other departments.

The ice bucket challenge began as a way to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations in support of ALS.
