Shaved heads show Horizon student that no one fights alone

February 28, 2017

During a one-week fundraiser in February, students and staff at Horizon Middle School showed eighth grader Caleigh Jordahl-Damm that no one fights alone. Caleigh is fighting cancer for the third time. Her fellow students made and hung signs and raised money to show their support.

Fourteen Horizon staff members agreed to have their heads shaved if the school raised more than $5,000 during the fundraiser. From T-shirt sales to a hat day to individual donations, the school exceeded its goal, and on Feb. 17 the staff members’ heads were shaved.
