Moorhead Area Public Schools announces principal assignment

April 24, 2017

Moorhead Area Public Schools has named a new administrator for the 2017-18 school year. Josh St. Louis was named principal for S.G. Reinertsen Elementary School effective July 1, following School Board approval on April 24.

St. Louis has been the assistant principal at Reinertsen Elementary since July 2015. Prior to that he was a teacher at Robert Asp Elementary since 2006. He replaces Carla Smith who was named principal for Horizon Middle School West Campus, the district’s new grades 5-6 school.

“Mr. St. Louis’s history in our district will provide a foundation for his leadership at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary,” said Superintendent Lynne Kovash.

St. Louis earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Minnesota, and he obtained his principal licensure through Minnesota State University Moorhead.
