Reinertsen K-Kids raise funds to send veteran to Washington, D.C.

May 25, 2017

S.G. Reinertsen Elementary K-Kids, a school service group connected to Kiwanis, led a project in early May to collect donations to help send a veteran to Washington, D.C., on a WDAY Honor Flight. For a $1 donation, donors received papers with an honor flight plane on which to write the name of someone who holds a place of honor in their lives.

The K-Kids had a goal of getting 750 planes on the Honor Wall by raising $750, enough to send one veteran on an Honor Flight. They have raised more than $940.
