We Are Proud: 2017 Minnesota Scholar of Distinction

We Are Proud of Moorhead High School student Izzy Larson, who was named a 2017 Minnesota Scholar of Distinction in Theatre Arts for her performance and scholarship project concerning connection and collaboration in social justice theater. The Scholars of Distinction award program, which is sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Education, honors students who demonstrate excellence in theater arts, science, STEM, mathematics, social studies and leadership. The Perpich Center for Arts Education administers the Scholars of Distinction in Theater Arts program, which requires students to submit a portfolio of work and present a culminating artistic project. Fifty-seven Minnesota students were honored at a recognition ceremony May 20, 2017. Larson was one of five students who received the designation of Scholar of Distinction in Theater Arts.
