Moorhead High football season ends in final seconds of section game

November 3, 2017

Moorhead High School senior captain and running back Otis Weah takes it to the house on a 95-yard run to tie the game during section tournament play Oct. 28 at Jim Gotta Stadium. The Spuds battled Alexandria in quarterfinal action of the Class 5A, Section 8 tournament, but came up short when the Cardinals scored the game-winning touchdown with five seconds remaining on the clock to win 27-20.

Weah scored all three touchdowns for the Spuds, rushing for 228 yards on 13 carries. He rushed for a total of 1,815 yards in 178 carries during the nine games played his senior year at Moorhead High. The Spuds ended their season with a 6-3 record.
