Moorhead High boys hockey beats Brainerd in home opener
December 12, 2017
The Moorhead High School boys hockey team defeated Brainerd 6-1 in the home opener at the Moorhead Sports Center Nov. 28. Moorhead’s Cole O’Connell (11) scores the fifth goal for the Spuds on an assist from Jack Stetz (21). The beautifully executed two-man breakaway left the Brainerd goaltender twisted in a knot trying vainly to make the save.
The game also featured a three-goal hat trick night for Carter Randklev. The hat trick included Randklev’s first goal of the night, in a move so amazing it was worthy of a spot on ESPN’s Top Ten of the night.
