Moorhead fourth-graders compete at all-city track meet

June 1, 2018

Lucey Wilson from S.G. Reinertsen Elementary School runs a relay race with encouragement from Sandy Van Dyke, physical education teacher at Dorothy Dodds Elementary, during the Grade 4 All-City Track Meet on May 14 at Moorhead High’s Jim Gotta Stadium. Wilson’s relay team won the race, which included teams from all four Moorhead Area Public Schools elementary schools along with racers from St. Joseph’s School and Park Christian.

The yearly all-day track event includes relay running events, individual running events, long jump, high jump, and softball toss. The school district’s physical education teachers run the event with help from the Moorhead High track and field teams.
