Fundraiser provides more than $7,000 to reduce lunch debt in Moorhead Schools

August 13, 2018

Last month, coordinators of the PB&J School Lunch Fundraiser presented Moorhead Area Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services with the proceeds from the second annual fundraiser.

This year’s PB&J School Lunch Fundraiser at Junkyard Brewing Company raised $7,019.59 to be divided among the district’s eight schools to be used for families in need with unpaid meal account balances.

The April 2018 event included PB&J sandwiches for a free will donation, bingo with donated prizes, and the donation of a portion of purchases by both Junkyard and Pico food truck. Numerous businesses, including Gate City Bank, donated supplies, prizes or money to the fundraiser. Online donations could be made through Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation, which was the fiscal sponsor for the fundraiser.
