Back-to-school events are planned for Moorhead schools

Back-to-school events for preschool, elementary and secondary students and their families are scheduled for Moorhead Area Public Schools.
The district’s Jump Start Preschools will hold back-to-school night from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.
Grades K-4 students at Dorothy Dodds, Ellen Hopkins, Robert Asp and S.G. Reinertsen Elementary Schools are being assigned to back-to-school sessions the afternoon of Aug. 30, or grades K-4 students and their parents/guardians may attend the regular back-to-school night from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. Parents may check their PowerSchool parent account for their assigned session after 8 a.m. Aug. 22.
If parents/guardians need assistance with a PowerSchool parent account, they should contact their school office or they can request an account be created for them online at https://pschool.moorheadschools.org.
Grades 5-6 students at Horizon Middle School West Campus have been assigned to back-to-school sessions the afternoon of Aug. 30, or grades 5-6 students and their parents/guardians may attend the back-to-school night as follows:
- Grade 5 and Spanish Immersion: Thursday, Aug. 30 from 5-6:30 p.m.
- Grade 6: Thursday, Aug. 30 from 7-8:30 p.m.
Parents may check their PowerSchool parent account for their assigned session after 8 a.m. Aug. 22.
Horizon West school pictures will be taken Aug. 30 during the afternoon sessions or evening open houses.
Horizon Middle School East Campus will hold its Back-to-School Nights as follows:
- Grade 7: Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 5-6:30 p.m.
- Grade 8: Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 5-6:30 p.m.
Horizon East students and their parents/guardians will follow a shortened version of their student’s schedule to meet their teachers.
Horizon East school pictures will be taken Aug. 28 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Grade 9 orientation sessions at Moorhead High School were held Aug. 20. School pictures for grades 10-11 are Thursday, Aug. 23 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. The grade 9 orientation makeup session is 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23.
At Red River Area Learning Center, open registration required for all Red River ALC students will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 21 or by appointment at Vista Center for Education.
