We Are Proud: Moorhead High School Spotlight Musical Theatre Program Awards

We Are Proud of Moorhead High School’s fall musical “Newsies” for being recognized for outstanding achievement in musical theatre with Hennepin Theatre Trust’s highest honors in the 2018-19 Spotlight Musical theatre Program. The company was awarded outstanding achievement in musical theatre, outstanding overall performance, outstanding overall production, outstanding student orchestra, outstanding performance by an ensemble, outstanding vocal performance by an ensemble, outstanding acting performance by an ensemble, outstanding movement/dance performance by an ensemble, outstanding overall technical team, outstanding technical crew, outstanding A/V board operators, and outstanding costume crew.

Individual Spotlight acting awards went to Kaden Moszer and Sophia Klindt for outstanding performance in a leading role and to Jonah Hanson for outstanding performance in a supporting role. Anna Larson and Alex Seigel received honorable mentions. Awards for outstanding technical leadership went to Maren Twedt, Ethan Bates and Sophie Hamre. MacKenzie Neuhalfen received an honorable mention in technical leadership. Rebecca Meyer-Larson directed “Newsies.” Moorhead High students will be recognized at the Spotlight Showcase on June 10, 2019, at the historic State Theatre.
