We Are Proud: Moorhead High School Science Olympiad

We Are Proud of the Moorhead High School Science Olympiad team for placing 12th out of 33 teams at the 2019 Science Olympiad state competition held March 2 at Bethel University. Team members are Gavin Bakke, Ross Colton, Justin Dang, Cal Darling, Austin Goble, Nathan Johnson, Lily Kolehmainen, Jonathon Morgan, Tanner Paulson, Emma Pranger, Riley Rosdahl, Jayden Schaak, Reid Shynkaruk, Lila Stanley and Isaac Vogt. Cal Darling and Lila Stanley placed first at state in the Herpetology event. This is Darling’s second state championship in a row in Herpetology. Other top 10 finishers at state are: Nathan Johnson and Austin Goble, sixth place in Geologic Mapping; Reid Shynkaruk and Jayden Schaak, sixth place in Code Busters and 10th place in Thermodynamics; Lila Stanley and Emma Pranger, eighth place in Anatomy/Physiology and eighth place in Designer Genes; Gavin Bakke and Tanner Paulson, eighth place in Mission Possible; and Justin Dang and Lily Kolehmainen, eighth place in Water Quality. Coaches are Moorhead High teachers Angie Jelinek and Jana Kasper.
