Both Moorhead High lacrosse teams win home games May 17, end inaugural seasons May 28

Moorhead High’s Haleigh Storbakken shoots the ball while being heavily defended during the girls lacrosse game against the Stealth from Hermantown/Proctor/Marshall on May 17 at Moorhead High’s stadium. The Spuds pulled off an 8-7 win in overtime for their second win of the season to end with a 2-11 record.

In the boys lacrosse game on May 17, Moorhead High’s Jakob Greene looks to pass the ball. Greene scored a goal for the Spuds during the game against Rocori at Moorhead High. Andrew Searls had two goals and Kenny Bohney added four goals in the 7-1 win over Rocori. The Moorhead boys lacrosse team ended its first season with a 5-6 record.
 
Both the boys and girls lacrosse teams ended their inaugural seasons after section tournament games on May 28. The girls team lost to Elk River in the first-round game in the Minnesota Class 1A, Section 8 girls lacrosse tournament, and the boys team fell to Buffalo in the first-round section game.
