Seasons end in section semifinals for Moorhead High girls and boys soccer

The Moorhead High girls soccer team lost 1-0 to Maple Grove on a penalty kick in the last three minutes of play during the Class 2A, Section 8 semifinal tournament game on Oct. 12. Goalie Emily Soukup had five saves in the game. The Spuds ended their season at 13-5.

Moorhead made it to the semis by defeating Elk River 4-1 on Oct. 10 in Moorhead. During the season, Soukup recorded her 17th shutout, becoming the all-time leader for Moorhead High School.

The boys soccer team fell to Maple Grove 0-4 in the 8AA semifinals in Maple Grove on Oct. 12. The Spuds advanced to the semifinals by defeating Rogers 5-1 in Moorhead on Oct. 10. The Moorhead boys soccer team ended the season 13-3-2.
