Horizon West students experience adaptive soccer

November 25, 2019

Students at Horizon Middle School West Campus experienced what it takes to be part of an adaptive activity last week. The students in Amber Gunkel’s physical education classes and Kayla Wainscott’s fifth-grade class gained a different perspective by playing adaptive soccer from wheelchairs. The parents of one of the students connected the teachers to HOPE Inc. for the opportunity. According to Wainscott, the adaptive soccer game, plus a classroom lesson on inclusion, were part of efforts to build relationships between students.
