Moorhead High girls basketball team wins home opener

December 4, 2019

Moorhead High’s Sam Zimmerman goes up for two points in the girls basketball season home opener on Nov. 22. The Spuds came back from a deficit to win the match 63-60 against Rogers in the final two minutes of play.

Zimmerman was the high scorer for the Spuds, leading with 22 points. Rylie Polomny put up 20 points and Megan Haugo added 15. Zimmerman and Haugo also had double digits on rebounds, scoring 14 and 10 respectively.

The Spuds play at home on Friday, Dec. 6. The girls basketball team plays at 6 p.m. against Maple Grove, and boys basketball team plays Benilde-St Margaret’s at 7:30 p.m.
