Moorhead gives balanced effort in boys basketball win

Moorhead High’s Blake Walthall gets a breakaway and goes up for two points during the boys basketball game against the Grand Forks Red River Roughriders on Dec. 21.

Moorhead gave a balanced team effort in the 70-50 win over the Roughriders, with three team members scoring in double digits. Quentin Hegg led the scoring for the Spuds with 14 points followed by Blake and Brady Walthall with 13 points each. Leading rebounder was Donnovin Hinsz with 10, followed by Trey Feeney who pulled in seven.

The Spuds will play at home at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 3 against Minnetonka during the second half of a basketball double header.
