Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

  • UPDATED: Red River ALC Main Office is open regular hours until June 21. From June 22 until Aug. 11, the Vista building will be open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and office hours will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday and 10-11:30 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You may leave a message for Red River ALC office staff at 218-284-2200. Messages will be checked regularly. Red River ALC operates K-12 summer programs across the district so ALC staff at Vista may not always be available. Regular office hours resume Aug. 14.
  • For questions related to the Monday Independent Study Program, please call Mary Broberg, lead teacher, at 218-284-2276. The Independent Study Program will run from Monday, June 12-Monday, Aug. 21 from 3-8 p.m. at Vista Center for Education, 2777 34th St. S.
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Probstfield Center for Education, Horizon Middle School, Moorhead High School, Vista Center for Education and four parks. See the complete schedule.
  • Registration for 2017-18, which is required for all students, will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and Aug. 22.

If you need immediate assistance or assistance with other inquires please call Probstfield Center for Education at 218-284-3300. The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 9. From June 12 through Aug. 4, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 7.

Kovash named Administrator of Excellence by MASA

The Minnesota Association of School Administrators has named Dr. Lynne Kovash, superintendent of Moorhead Area Public Schools, as a 2017 Administrator of Excellence. She will be recognized for her leadership, concern for students, and active involvement in professional and community affairs during the MASA/MASE Spring Conference. School Board appoints Cindy Fagerlie to board

At the Jan. 9 meeting, the Moorhead School Board voted to appoint former member Cindy Fagerlie to the board until a successor is elected. The appointment of the new school Board members comes after the resignation of Laurie Johnson at the end of December 2016 when she moved out of state.  Read More »
