Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

If you need further assistance regarding the following programs:

  • Dorothy Dodds Elementary School is still under construction to open this fall. 
  • For Elementary Special Education Extended School Year, please call Brandon Yoney at 284-7128 or Winifred Evensen at 284-3711. ESY is from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 13-July 27.
  • For EXCEL Jump Start Elementary will be 8-11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday from July 31-Aug. 18 at Probstfield Center for Education. More information will be sent to families in July.
  • The 2017-18 grades K-4 school supply list is available here.
  • Pay for school activity and supply fees online through PayForIt.
  • UPDATED: Grades K-8 student schedules and teacher assignments will be available to view online through PowerSchool at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Probstfield Center for Education, Horizon Middle School, Moorhead High School, Vista Center for Education and four parks. See the complete schedule.
If you need immediate assistance or assistance with other inquires please call Probstfield Center for Education at 284-3300. The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 9. From June 12 through Aug. 4, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 7.

Moorhead School Board approves budget for 2017-18

During the June 26 meeting, the Moorhead School Board approved the district’s annual operating plan, which includes the preliminary budget for the 2017-18 school year. General fund revenues are projected at $77.4 million with expenses projected to be $80.6 million. Read More »

Welcome to Dorothy Dodds Elementary School! Dodds Elementary School focuses on learning by using a results-oriented curriculum and instruction and by creating a culture of respect, acceptance and support for students in partnership with parents. Dodds Elementary is located in east Moorhead and has approximately 750 students in grades K-4.

Family Involvement

Family involvement is a critical link to student achievement, to achieving a high quality education and to a safe, disciplined learning environment. Parents and guardians have opportunities to become involved both at home and at school, and communication between parents/guardians and the schools is encouraged.
