Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

If you need further assistance regarding the following programs:

  • Ellen Hopkins Main Office is closed from June 20 to July 28. You may leave a message for Hopkins office staff at 284-4300 that will be returned after this date.
  • For Elementary Special Education Extended School Year, please call Brandon Yoney at 284-7128 or Winifred Evensen at 284-3711. ESY is from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 13-July 27.
  • For Ellen Hopkins EXCEL Jump Start Extended Learning Year, please call Sarah Martin at 284-4335. Jump Start Elementary will be 8-11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday from July 31-Aug. 18 at Probstfield Center for Education. More information will be sent to families in July.
  • The 2017-18 grades K-4 school supply list is available here.
  • Pay for school activity and supply fees online through PayForIt.
  • UPDATED: Grades K-8 student schedules and teacher assignments will be available to view online through PowerSchool at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Probstfield Center for Education, Horizon Middle School, Moorhead High School, Vista Center for Education and four parks. See the complete schedule.
If you need immediate assistance or assistance with other inquires please call Probstfield Center for Education at 284-3300. The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 9. From June 12 through Aug. 4, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 7.

Probstfield kindergarten students learn seatbelt safety

Members of the Class of 2025 perform in all-city concert

Last month more than 500 fourth-grade students in Moorhead Area Public Schools performed the program “Constructing Dreams.” The fourth-grade students and their music teachers from Ellen Hopkins, Robert Asp and S.G. Reinertsen Elementary Schools shared songs and words during the first all-city fourth-grade concert held at Moorhead High School March 23. Read More »

Horizon East to focus on meeting student needs

Next year grades 7-8 students at Horizon Middle School East Campus will follow a modified schedule to better meet student needs during the school day. Welcome to Ellen Hopkins Elementary School! Hopkins Elementary School hosts a vibrant, multicultural community dedicated to meeting the needs of students through a structured curriculum and a variety of programs. It is our belief that education is a shared responsibility of our students, parents and staff working together. Hopkins Elementary is located in central Moorhead and has approximately 850 students in grades K-5 in both an English program and a Spanish Immersion Program (SI). Read more
