Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

If you need further assistance regarding the following programs:

  • S.G. Reinertsen Main Office is closed between June 15 and July 28. You may leave a message for Reinertsen office staff at 284-5300 that will be returned after this date.
  • For S.G. Reinertsen EXCEL Jump Start Extended Learning Year, please call Peggy Simonson at 284-5364. Jump Start Elementary will be from 8-11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday from July 31-Aug. 18 at Probstfield Center for Education. More information will be sent to families in July.
  • For Elementary Special Education Extended School Year, please call Brandon Yoney at 284-7128 or Winifred Evensen at 284-3711. ESY is from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 13-July 27.
  • The 2017-18 grades K-4 school supply list is available here.
  • Pay for school activity and supply fees online through PayForIt
  • UPDATED: Grades K-8 student schedules and teacher assignments will be available to view online through PowerSchool at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
  • Elementary back-to-school sessions will be the afternoon of August 31. Families and students will be assigned to a session, which will be posted in PowerSchool. During this time, students and families can meet the teacher and tour the school. Back-to-School night will be August 31 from 5:30-7 p.m. Families only need to attend one event so if you can make the assigned afternoon event, you do not need to attend in the evening. If the time you are assigned does not work for you, you can call the office to reschedule.
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Probstfield Center for Education, Horizon Middle School, Moorhead High School, Vista Center for Education and four parks. See the complete schedule.

If you need immediate assistance or assistance with other inquires please call Probstfield Center for Education at 284-3300. The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 9. From June 12 through Aug. 4, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 7.

Moorhead School Board approves budget for 2017-18

Welcome to S.G. Reinertsen Elementary School! At Reinertsen Elementary, we ensure learning by using a results-oriented curriculum and instruction, by creating a culture of respect, acceptance and support for students in partnership with parents, and by establishing a professional learning community for staff that includes common goals and collaborative teams.
