Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

If you need further assistance regarding the following programs:

  • S.G. Reinertsen Main Office is closed between June 15 and July 29. You may leave a message for Reinertsen office staff at 284-5300 that will be returned after this date.
  • For S.G. Reinertsen EXCEL Jump Start Extended Learning Year, please call Melissa Voecks at 284-5363. Jump Start Elementary will be from 8-11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday from July 25-Aug. 12.
  • The 2016-17 grades K-5 school supply list is available here.
  • Pay for school activity and supply fees online through PayForIt
  • Student schedules and teacher assignments will be available to view online through PowerSchool at 4:30 p.m. August 19.
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Ellen Hopkins Elementary, Robert Asp Elementary, S.G. Reinertsen Elementary, Horizon Middle School, Moorhead High School and four parks. See the complete schedule.

If you need immediate assistance or assistance with other inquires please call Probstfield Center for Education at 284-3350. The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 3. From June 6 through Aug. 5, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 8.

School Boards approve boundary realignment plan

The School Boards for Moorhead Area Public Schools 152 and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Public Schools 2164 approved the plan to adjust the school district boundaries at their meetings June 27. The approval comes after opportunities were provided for public testimony on the plan at both the June 13 and 27 board meetings. Read More »

Calendar for 2016-17 revised

Moorhead Schools provides free summer meals for youth

Moorhead Area Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program for 2016. Meals will be provided to all children in the Moorhead area, ages 1-18, free of charge. Children may eat at any site. Read More »

Moorhead Area Public Schools adding one-to-one technology for grades 6-8

Increased student engagement and collaboration were common themes from this year’s one-to-one technology pilot program in Moorhead Area Public Schools. The pilot examined the financial feasibility and instructional impact of a school-owned one-to-one student-computing environment. The School Board approved the Technology Integration Task Force’s recommendation to implement a one-to-one computing environment for grades 6-8 students for 2016-17.

Welcome to S.G. Reinertsen Elementary School! At Reinertsen Elementary, we ensure learning by using a results-oriented curriculum and instruction, by creating a culture of respect, acceptance and support for students in partnership with parents, and by establishing a professional learning community for staff that includes common goals and collaborative teams. Reinertsen Elementary in south Moorhead has an enrollment of 940, with kindergarten classes located at Probstfield Center for Education. Read more
