Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

If you need further assistance regarding the following programs:

  • Moorhead High School Main Office will be located in the media center because of construction this summer. Use Door 15 to enter the school. From June 11 through Aug. 10, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday. You may leave a message for Moorhead High office staff at 218-284-2300.
  • The Moorhead High School Counseling Office will be open limited hours during the summer. The counseling staff is not available. You may leave a message at 218-284-2400 in the Registrar/Counseling Office for new student registration or other needs. All counseling staff will return Aug. 13.
  • New student registration will be Aug. 16 and 20-23 by appointment. Prior to Aug. 13, call 218-284-2400 to pre-register.
  • Grades K-12 student schedules and teacher assignments will be available to view online through PowerSchool at 8 a.m. Aug. 22.
  • For the Moorhead High School Activities Office, please call DeAnn Smith at 218-284-2345. From June 11 through Aug. 10, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday. During summer construction, the Activities Office will be located in the Counseling Office.
  • Registration for activities is done by using PowerSchool Registration online, which will be available for completion beginning approximately late July. Please register for any activity you think your student may participate in. A medical professional physical must be on file to participate in sports. Physical forms can be picked up in the Activities Office or printed from
  • For Moorhead High School EXCEL Summer School, please call coordinator Maret Kashmark at 284-2316. EXCEL Summer Program is from 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday from June 11-June 28 and July 9-26.
  • For Moorhead High School Special Education Extended School Year, please call Ashley Nelson at 284-3887 or Winifred Evensen at 284-3711. ESY is from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 19-28, July 10-19, July 31-Aug. 9.
  • For ESY bus transportation questions, please call Mike Steffen or Ruth Smith at 284-1400.
  • The 2018-19 school supply list is available here.
  • Pay for school activity and supply fees online through PayForIt.
  • Grade 9 orientation and school pictures are Monday, Aug. 20 with sessions scheduled as follows: 8:30 a.m. for last names beginning with A-F, 10 a.m. for G-J, 1:30 p.m. for K-P, and 3 p.m. for Q-Z. The makeup session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23. Important Moorhead High School information for students and parents will be provided, school pictures will be taken, students schedules will be handed out and lockers assigned. School tours and club/activity information will be available (time permitting).
  • Grades 10 and 11 school pictures are Thursday, Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5-6 p.m. Orientation will be online; letters will be sent the week of Aug. 13. 
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Arrowhead Park, Queens Park and Moorhead High School. See the Moorhead Schools summer meals schedule. Meals may be purchased at Horizon Middle School using student meal accounts.

The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 8. From June 11 through Aug. 10, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7-11 a.m. Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 13.

Legacy Foundation awards eight impact grants to Moorhead teachers last year
