Brent G. Teiken

Brent G. Teiken graduated from Moorhead High School in 1988. During high school he played basketball and baseball. Teiken earned his bachelor’s degree in English and business from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., in 1992 and his master of business administration from University of St. Thomas School of Business, Minneapolis, Minn., in 2004.
From 1993 to 1996, Teiken worked for Great Plains Software, now Microsoft, in Fargo, N.D., first in customer service and support and later as a technical writer/development team member. In 1996 Teiken and Chuck Duffie, a former co-worker from Great Plains Software, founded Sundog Interactive. Teiken has served as Sundog’s CEO since the company’s inception. In this role, Teiken works with senior leadership to set the company’s strategic direction, oversees the company’s financial and business operations, and leads the effort to sustain an innovative and values-based company culture.
Under Teiken’s leadership, Sundog has been nationally recognized as a Best Place to Work by Advertising Age in 2011 and 2012. Sundog also ranked on the list of Inc. 5000 for fastest-growing companies in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Additionally, Sundog was named the North Dakota Young Professionals Network Best Place to Work in 2010 and 2013 and the 2017 Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber’s Young Professionals Best Place to Work. In 2012 Teiken received the Marcus Buckingham’s Leaders Leading Leaders Award, which recognized 25 of the most innovative leaders across the United States.
Teiken is active in the community, including serving on the Information Technology Council of North Dakota Board of Directors from 1999-2002, the MeritCare Foundation Board of Advisors from 2008-10, the Sanford Health Board of Trustees since 2011, the Fargo-Moorhead Economic Development Board of Directors since 2016, and the Moorhead Youth Hockey Association Board of Directors from 2014-16. He has been a volunteer coach for youth baseball, hockey and basketball since 2003, was an adjunct instructor at Concordia College from 2011-15, and is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Brent and his wife, Jodell, live in Moorhead, Minn. They have three children, Meg, Beth and Jack.
