Important Summer Contact Information

Moorhead Area Public Schools operates with limited staff during the summer months. The following information is provided to make it easier for the public to contact the district.

If you need further assistance regarding the following programs:

  • Horizon Middle School Main Office is closed between June 15 and July 28. You may leave a message for Horizon office staff at 284-7300.
  • For Horizon Middle School Summer Academy, please call coordinator Josh Carlson at 284-7300. Horizon Summer Academy is from 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday from June 13-29 and July 10-19. STEM Week is 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday from July 10-13 and July 17-20.
  • For Horizon Middle School Special Education Extended School Year, please call Brandon Yoney at 284-7128 or Winifred Evensen at 284-3711. ESY is from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 13-July 27.
  • For ESY bus transportation questions, please call Dan Bacon or Ruth Smith at 284-1410.
  • Middle school students in grades 7-8 who are new to the Moorhead School District may register for the 2017-18 school year from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22 in the Horizon Middle School East Campus counseling office. After Aug. 1, call 218-284-7300 to set up an appointment to meet with a counselor for a 30-minute meeting and tour.
  • The 2017-18 grades 5-8 school supply list is available here.
  • Student schedules and teacher assignments will be available to view online through PowerSchool at 4:30 p.m. August 18.
  • Pay for school activity and supply fees online through PayForIt.
  • As part of the summer food service program, free meals for all children will be served at Probstfield Center for Education, Horizon Middle School, Moorhead High School, Vista Center for Education and four parks. See the complete schedule.
  • Registration for grades 7-8 sports is done by using InfoSnap online registration. Please register for any sport you think your student may participate in. A medical professional physical must be on file to participate. Physical forms can be picked up in the Horizon main office, or printed from the www.mshsl.org.
If you need immediate assistance or assistance with other inquires please call Probstfield Center for Education at 284-3300. The district office is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 9. From June 12 through Aug. 4, office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Regular hours resume Aug. 7.

Durbin draws from history for his young adult novels

Horizon East to focus on meeting student needs
