Moorhead High Theatre presents retelling of Snow White in “One Magic Kiss” April 23-26

While audiences may be familiar with “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” Moorhead High School’s theater department is producing a modern interpretation of the traditional fairytale with the new musical “One Magic Kiss: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
Performances of “One Magic Kiss” will be at 7:30 p.m. April 23, 24 and 25 and 2:30 p.m. April 25 and 26 in the Moorhead High theater. The April 23 performance will be sign language interpreted. Tickets are available online at www.moorheadschools.org/tix or by calling the box office at 218-284-2255.
According to Dawn Gunderson, the show’s director, the theme of facing one’s fear to overcome a fear is prevalent in the show.
“Through catchy songs and new characters is an inspiring message that beauty is who you are and how you treat people is more important than how you look,” Gunderson said. “In this play for all ages, the issues of bullying and self-image are infused into the story.”
Gunderson is excited about the production because she has both veteran actors and new faces. “To open young people's eyes to the world of theatre is one of the greatest joys of being a director,” she said. “It's transforming.”
