Virtual School Board Meetings

The School Board Chair and Superintendent have determined that the School Board will return to in-person meetings starting February 1, 2021. These in-person meetings will continue to be held under Minnesota Statute 13D.021 (remote meeting statute) due to the declared peacetime state of emergency and COVID-19 pandemic declared by the Governor of Minnesota. (Minnesota Statute 13D.021 allows board members, staff, and/or public whose health conditions prevent them from attending an in-person meeting to participate in or watch the board meeting.)

School Board meeting occupancy standards will follow CDC recommendations and limit public attendance to 10 people at the regular meeting location unless public health factors make public attendance infeasible. All other members of the public who wish to attend may do so by accessing the livestream link that will be posted on the district website prior to the meeting.

In the interest of open communications, the district wishes to provide an opportunity for the public to address the School Board. If you wish to comment on a non-agenda topic, please fill out the Contact the Board form on the district website by 10 a.m. on the day of the School Board meeting. The board will designate an individual to read a representative sample of the comments at the Board meeting during the Matters Presented by Citizens portion of the meeting.

December 14, 2020 Regular Board Meeting

The School Board approved the preliminary tax levy on September 21, 2020. The School Board will certify the district's final 2020 Payable 2021 Property Tax Levy at the December 14, 2020, Regular School Board meeting at 6:00 pm. The final levy certification will also be adopted at this meeting.

This year, due to the peacetime state of emergency and pandemic declaration this meeting will be held in a virtual format. The public will be given time to comment and ask questions regarding the proposed property tax levy and budget.

Remote access to the live stream of the School Board meeting is provided on the district website. Public comment can be done as a conference call; the school board will be able to listen to the comments via speakerphone. Otherwise, the public may submit comments to the board via the designated email on the district website by 10 a.m. on December 14, 2020, the comments will be read at the meeting.
