Who Can Enroll?
Moorhead Area Public Schools welcomes all students who live within the boundaries of Moorhead Independent School District 152 and meet state age and health requirements.
Minnesota public school students have the opportunity to apply to attend public schools outside the school district in which they reside. An open enrollment form would need to be completed. Contact the school or call the enrollment office at 218-284-3370 for more information.
Elementary Attendance Area Requirement
A student is required to attend elementary school in the attendance area in which the family resides unless the proper attendance area exception form have been completed and approved.

When Should I Enroll My Child?
Early Childhood Education
Learning in Moorhead begins at birth with a wide range of popular Early Childhood Family Education classes and services for parents and children, birth through age five, and School Readiness preschool programs.

Children must reach their fifth birthday on or before September 1 of the school year to be eligible to attend kindergarten. Kindergarten registration information is mailed to students who are included in the school district's community census prior to kindergarten registration in January each year.
The completed grades K-4 pre-registration form should be returned during the registration times and parents/guardians should complete the online registration process through PowerSchool registration. Read more about kindergarten registration.

Moved into the District?
During the School Year
K-6 students who move into the district during the school year should enroll at the enrollment office at Probstfield Center for Education. Grades 7-12 students who move into the district during the school year should contact the school to enroll.
During Summer Prior to the School Year
Elementary and Intermediate School (Grades K-6)
Parents of K-4 elementary students and grades 5-6 students moving into the district during the summer should enroll their child at the enrollment office at Probstfield Center for Education. Call the enrollment office at 218-284-3370 for information. The grades K-4 pre-registration form or grades 5-12 pre-registration form should be completed as part of the registration process.
Middle School and High School (Grades 7-12)
New student registration dates are scheduled for August each year. Middle school and high school students who move into the district during the summer should contact the school to register. The grades 5-12 pre-registration form should be completed as part of the registration process.
How Do I Enroll My Child?

Students enrolling in a Minnesota public school for the first time must provide the following:
- Proof of age
- Proof of district residency
- Updated record listing state required immunizations by day, month, year of vaccination
After registration is completed, Moorhead Area Public Schools will request a transfer of records from the previous school attended. It is helpful if transferring students provide a report card from the previous school attended.
I've Enrolled My Child, Now What?
Now that your child is enrolled in Moorhead Area Public Schools, you will want to:
- Request a PowerSchool parent/guardian account so you can monitor your student's attendance, grades and meal account information and access school announcements and teacher pages.
- Review the student handbook for your student's school. Handbooks are posted on each school's page.
- Get involved with the Parent Teacher Advisory Council at your student's school. Meeting dates are listed on the calendar.
- Talk to your student's teacher or your school principal if you need more information.
