The Moorhead Area Education Foundation will sponsor the 26th annual MAEF Spud Scholars Phonathon from 6:30-9 p.m. Monday, February 27.
Last year, Moorhead High School students and MAEF volunteers gathered pledges for more than $16,000. This year, students have a goal of raising $20,000, all of which will be used for scholarships in 2017.
The phonathon is the major fundraiser for the Moorhead Area Education Foundation. Other funds come from businesses, service clubs, and individual contributions, plus interest from the MAEF Endowment Fund. Since 1991, MAEF has awarded $1,529,885 to 1,685 Moorhead High graduates.
The mission of the Moorhead Area Education Foundation is to raise money and receive gifts of money or property to enhance educational programs for students in Independent School District 152. The foundation provides scholarships for post-secondary education and grants for innovative education enhancement projects in classrooms district-wide.
