Moorhead Area Public Schools announces final administrative assignments for new school year

Moorhead Area Public Schools has named several new administrators this summer with the final administrative assignment approved by the School Board this week.

Erika Engelking was named assistant principal at Robert Asp Elementary School, following board approval Aug. 14. She previously worked as an assistant principal intern for Fargo Public Schools.

Engelking replaces Lynnelle Dirksen, who was named principal at Ellen Hopkins Elementary School in July. Dirksen has been assistant principal at Robert Asp Elementary since 2014. Prior to that she was dean of students at Roosevelt Elementary School in Willmar, Minn.

At S.G. Reinertsen Elementary School, Tiffany Nagel was named assistant principal to replace Josh St. Louis, who was named Reinertsen principal earlier this year. Nagel previously worked as RTI coordinator/instructional coach for Lake Park Audubon Schools. St. Louis has been the assistant principal at Reinertsen Elementary since July 2015. Prior to that he was a teacher at Robert Asp Elementary since 2006. He replaces Carla Smith who was named principal for Horizon Middle School West Campus, the district’s new grades 5-6 school.

Ben Dimond has been named the assistant principal at Horizon West. He was previously a counselor in Willmar, Minn. Jason Buckley has been named the assistant principal at Horizon Middle School East Campus. Prior to that he was a behavior specialist in Laramie, Wyo.
