Moorhead girls basketball wins close game over Minnetonka
February 14, 2018
Moorhead High’s Rylie Polomny drives for two points against Minnetonka during girls basketball action at Moorhead High School Feb. 9. The key to Moorhead’s narrow 63-61 win was relentless, constant defensive pressure. The Spuds’ one-on-one defense forced turnovers, but more importantly it made the Skippers work for every point.
Polomny led the Spuds in scoring with 20 points, and she added six rebounds. Sam Haiby pumped in 14 points for Moorhead and had eight rebounds and eight assists. The Spuds, who improved their record to 13-8, have one remaining home game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16.
