Moorhead High baseball tops West Fargo in close game

Moorhead High’s Caden Triggs dives back to first base, beating West Fargo’s Jaden Grefsrud during the baseball game against West Fargo on April 22. Triggs was three of four for hits in the game, and he scored a run in the Moorhead win.
The Spuds were up 4-0 going into the top of the seventh inning when the Packers rallied and scored four runs of their own to tie the game. Moorhead’s Sterling Haphey hit a triple to open the bottom of the seventh for the Spuds. West Fargo loaded the bases with walks, walking the final batter, and Moorhead scored a walk-off run by Haphey to win the game 5-4.
The Spuds play St. Cloud Tech at 7 p.m. Friday, April 26 and Minnetonka at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Moorhead’s Matson Field.
